24 May 2nd ABM Workshop @ESCP Europe Berlin
On May 19th and 20th, 2017 almost 20 researchers and PhD students from a wide range of scientific disciplines gathered for a workshop at ESCP Europe Berlin Campus on the topics of validation and verification of agent-based models. The workshop, titled “Agent-based modeling in Ecological Economics—From toy model to verified tool of analysis,” was organized and funded by SustBusy, ESCP Europe´s research center on sustainability in business and society.
The topics of this year’s workshop took agent-based modeling a bit further: how can we make sure that our models are accurate and depicting reality? With input from two keynote speakers, Dr. Iris Lorscheid and Dr. Claudius Gräbner, it was noted that there is a need for a community focus on verification and validation. Participants of the workshop actively discussed how important it is to have a common understanding verification and validation.
